Big chicken farmer Li Jicheng never forgets his fellow villagers after getting rich

Walking into Lianfeng Village in Xifeng Town, the chicken farm of villagers Li Jicheng and Wang Lihong is thriving: in a chicken house of more than 3,600 sq m, the egg racks are covered with fresh eggs, and the laying hens cluck without stopping.

Lianfeng Village, with green mountains and clear waters and no pollution at all, has a unique geographical advantage for developing chicken farming. Three years ago, Li Jicheng and Wang Lihong boldly made an attempt and began raising laying hens.

Although the couple only had a junior high school education, they taught themselves knowledge about raising chickens and used WeChat to communicate with breeding experts about preventing and treating chicken diseases. They started with 2,000 chickens, and over three years the couple expanded to the current 10,000 adult chickens and 6,000 chicks, with a 3,600 sq m chicken house.

The reporter learned during the interview that these 10,000 laying hens can produce 1,000 jin of eggs per day, and the net profit can now reach more than 300,000 yuan per year. Li Jicheng and his wife can use 400 tons of corn each year for raising chickens. When they buy corn from the village, they pay several fen more per jin than the normal price, solving the villagers' problem of difficulty in selling grain and selling it cheaply.

A single flower in bloom is no splendid scene; when a hundred flowers bloom in many colors, spring fills the garden. "Being rich yourself does not count as being rich; only when everyone is rich does it count as being rich." As Li Jicheng and Wang Lihong succeeded in raising chickens, other villagers began coming to ask for advice, and more and more people came to learn from them. He kept nothing back, patiently explained, and found ways to help, so that those who came for guidance came happily and returned satisfied, acting as a qualified "path opener" for the fellow villagers of his hometown to get rich.

"Chicks can start laying eggs after 4 months and can lay for 16 months. At present, sales are very good; nearby supermarkets and the town itself can sell them all, so I want to expand the breeding scale, but working capital is not sufficient. At the same time, I also want to set up a chicken farming cooperative to lead more villagers to prosper together..." Li Jicheng has beautiful hopes for the future, but turning them into reality has stumped this middle-aged man.

Kang Xiguang, Party Secretary of Xifeng Town, learned of the situation during a visit and survey and paid great attention to it, and he strongly agreed with the idea of setting up a chicken farming cooperative. He said he would personally go to secure a loan to expand the breeding scale, and with the strength of the whole town help Li Jicheng and Wang Lihong set up a chicken farming cooperative, drive the chicken farming industry in Lianfeng Village, and enable more villagers to live a good life.
