Xiaoyi: The poverty alleviation devotion of a "Youth Pioneer in Escaping Poverty and Becoming Prosperous"

In order to let poor households enjoy this Dragon Boat Festival, Zhang Jianwei, chairman of Deshunchang Animal Husbandry Co. in Xinzhuang, Xiaoyi City, who had just been awarded the title "Luliang Poverty Alleviation Youth Model - Youth Pioneer in Escaping Poverty and Becoming Prosperous", distributed a special holiday benefit to 52 households receiving minimum living allowances and households enjoying the five guarantees in the two villages of Xinzhuang and Huaishugou.

This special holiday benefit was 5 jin of black pork that Deshunchang Animal Husbandry had prepared for them. When the poor households who received the benefit talked about Deshunchang and Zhang Jianwei, almost all of them expressed gratitude.

It is understood that since starting production last year, Deshunchang Animal Husbandry Co. has always insisted on running a conscientious enterprise and a grateful enterprise, actively absorbing surrounding poor households to work at the company, and opening up a channel for farmers to increase their income. As a poverty alleviation model, under the current downturn in the pork market, Zhang Jianwei still carried forward the traditional virtue of the Chinese nation of being happy to do good and generous in giving. In his words, he wants to take the lead again in poverty alleviation.

Zhang Jianwei: I am also the son of a genuine farmer, and I came out from the countryside. Since starting production last National Day, things have gone quite smoothly. This is inseparable from the support of the Party committee and government, as well as the attention of all sectors of society. The Dragon Boat Festival has come, and for all the poor households, households receiving minimum living allowances, and households enjoying the five guarantees in the two villages of Xinzhuang and Huaishugou, each household is being given 5 jin of local pork, because they also need to celebrate the Dragon Boat Festival. I personally also have an enterprise, and in the village I am still a village cadre, a bellwether. I want to take the lead in this and repay society with practical actions.
