Where is the A-share market heading under the command of the "Nifty Fifty"?

Where is the "Nifty Fifty" directing the A-share market?

A gentleman determined to become a billionaire by the age of 40 found, at 35, that such a wish was simply unattainable, so he quit his job and started his own business, hoping to get rich overnight.

Over five years he ran a travel agency, a coffee shop, and a flower shop, but unfortunately every venture failed, pushing his family to desperation. His exhausted wife could not persuade him to return to the workplace, and in her helpless despair she ran to seek the help of a revered monk. After learning the situation, the monk told the wife: "If your husband is willing, please have him come here!"

Although the gentleman came, it was clear from his eyes that he had only come to humor his wife. The monk said nothing, and led him into the courtyard of the temple. The courtyard was about the size of a basketball court, filled entirely with dense century-old trees. The monk picked up a broom from under the eaves and said to the gentleman: "If you can sweep the fallen leaves in this courtyard clean, I will tell you how to earn a fortune of hundreds of millions."

Although he did not believe it, seeing how serious the monk was, and tempted by the fortune of hundreds of millions, the gentleman thought sweeping this courtyard clean could not be that hard, so he took the broom and began to sweep. After an hour, he finally managed to sweep from one end of the courtyard to the other. Just as it seemed he had finally finished, he picked up the dustpan and turned around to gather up the piles of leaves he had just swept, only to see that the ground he had just swept was once again covered with fallen leaves.

Annoyed, he had no choice but to sweep faster, hoping to keep up with the speed at which the leaves were falling. But after a whole day of trying, the fallen leaves on the ground were just as many as when he had first arrived. The gentleman furiously threw down the broom and ran to find the monk, wanting to ask why the monk had played such a joke on him.

The monk pointed at the leaves on the ground and said: "Desire is like the fallen leaves on the ground that can never be swept away, layering over and burying your patience. Patience is the voice of wealth. You have a hundred million worth of desire in your heart, yet only one day's worth of patience in your body; it is like these autumn leaves -- you must wait until winter when all the leaves have fallen before you can sweep them clean, yet you hope to finish sweeping in a single day." With that, he asked the couple to go back.

As they were leaving, the monk told the gentleman that, to repay him for his hard work sweeping today, on their way home they would pass a granary containing 100 sacks of rice packed in burlap bags, each sack weighing 100 jin. If the gentleman was willing to help move this rice outside the granary, behind the pile of rice there would be a door, and inside it a treasure chest containing gold donated by devout followers, not a great amount, to serve as his reward for helping sweep the floor and move the rice today.

After walking for a while, the couple came upon a granary, inside which rice was stacked neatly to a height of about two stories, exactly as the monk had described. Enticed by the gold, the gentleman began carrying the sacks of rice outside one by one. Several hours later, when he was almost finished, he saw that there really was a door behind the pile. Excitedly he pushed it open, and inside there really was a treasure chest. The chest was not locked, and he easily opened it.

His eyes lit up -- inside the chest was a small burlap sack. He picked up the sack and untied the rope, reached in, and grabbed a handful of something, but what he held was not gold, but a handful of small black seeds. He thought perhaps they were there to protect the gold, so he poured out everything in the sack onto the ground. But to his disappointment, there were no gold nuggets on the ground, only a pile of black seeds and a slip of paper. He picked up the paper, and on it was written: There is no gold here.

The deceived gentleman disappointedly slammed the burlap sack in his hand hard against the wall, and angrily turned to open that door to leave, only to see the monk standing outside the door, holding a handful of seeds in both hands, and saying softly: "The hundred sacks of rice you just carried were all grown over four months from this small sack of seeds. Your patience is not even equal to that of a single grain of rice -- how could you ever hear the voice of wealth?"

A single grain of rice, dutifully patient, eventually becomes a granary full of rice; only the patient can hear the voice of wealth.

The current A-share market is stuck, unable to move up or down, with light trading. It relies on the "Nifty Fifty" to adjust the index, and the limited on-market funds are huddling around large-cap blue chips, white horses, and some Xiongan-themed stocks, leaving the eight categories of stocks generally starved of capital. In a sluggish market, what is tested is the investor's patience and confidence.

Facing an A-share market as still as water, we too need the patience of a single grain of rice.

Those with patience will eventually hear the voice of wealth!
