Fresh melons hit the market, and growers ride them onto the road to prosperity

Through the "government + cooperative + poor households" model, Haye Hutong Town in Jiuyuan District has brought all 220 poor households in the town into cooperatives to take part in contract farming. The poor households not only learned growing techniques but also filled their pockets. This year, poor households lifted out of poverty through industry in Haye Hutong Town accounted for 67% of registered poor households.
