Returning Home to Start a Business: One Person Lifts a Thousand Out of Poverty

Through measures such as support in "policy, funds and industry", building platforms and demonstration-driven guidance, it encourages and supports migrant workers to use the knowledge and skills gained from working away from home, as well as the funds and information they have obtained, to return home and start businesses. Through this assistance and guidance, the county has now lifted nearly 20,000 poor people out of poverty.
Recently, at the Xueronghua training class in Pingyu County, the reporter saw Liu Yiming, 26 years old this year, giving infant massage training to the students in the class. She is an outstanding example of returning-home entrepreneurship in the county.
It is reported that after Liu Yiming returned from studying in Australia in 2014, she stayed in Beijing to develop her career. During an accidental trip home to visit relatives, she learned of the Pingyu County government's strong support for migrant workers returning home to start businesses. She gave up the generous job treatment in Beijing and returned to her hometown, where she founded Xueronghua Training School in Shanghecheng in the county.
Since Liu Yiming's training school opened in 2015, through practical technical training and online and offline internet learning, it has continuously trained more than 3,000 rural left-behind women in advanced maternity matron work, pediatric massage, lactation promotion and more. Nian Fangfang, a villager from Wangzhai Village, Donghuangmiao Township in the county, is one of them.
