Developing characteristic industries to drive villagers to prosperity

Ganzhou News (Reporter Huang Jiyan) On May 31, Vice Governor Wu Xiaojun came to Ganxian District, Ganzhou City to investigate targeted poverty alleviation and modern agriculture work.

Wu Xiaojun came to the poverty alleviation demonstration sites in Shangdan Village, Wuyun Town and Luotian Village, Shadi Town, as well as the Makou Jinchayuan Camellia oleifera industrial base and other places to investigate and understand the targeted poverty alleviation work. In Shangdan Village, Wuyun Town, Wu Xiaojun went deep into the vegetable planting base to learn in detail about the benefits of vegetable planting. In Luotian Village and Makou Village, Shadi Town, he talked with village officials and affirmed the local practice of driving villagers out of poverty and to prosperity through developing stevia and Camellia oleifera industries. He said that for targeted poverty alleviation, developing industries is the key, and more poor households must be driven out of poverty and to prosperity through industrial development.

During the investigation, Wu Xiaojun pointed out that the key to poverty alleviation lies in precision. In precise identification, those who should be included must all be included, and not a single household can be left behind. Both new additions and removals must adhere to the open system and gain public recognition. Policies and standards must be well grasped, and targeted poverty alleviation must be implemented strictly in accordance with policies and standards. Industrial poverty alleviation must be well carried out, developing characteristic industries according to local conditions and combining long-term and short-term approaches, achieving full industrial coverage, and combining this with developing new agricultural business entities and the participation of poor households, as well as with developing and strengthening village-level collective economies, doing meticulous and solid work in targeted poverty alleviation.
