Gong Zhaonan, who lives in Dakengkou group, Huangfang village, Siqian township, is one of the many families pushed into poverty by illness. Though disease has ravaged his body, he hopes to use his own hard-working hands to escape poverty sooner.

On May 29, the reporter met Gong Zhaonan. He was cutting grass in the field, with a basket and a machete as his tools. Clearly, he cannot do heavy manual labor.

I saw online that these guinea pigs are very easy to raise, so I first brought in 10 to try raising them. If they can be developed, I want to make it into an industry.

In raising guinea pigs, Gong Zhaonan is targeting his hometown's good natural ecological environment and the village's support and encouragement.

Xiao Gong is a targeted poverty alleviation recipient in our village. Our village guided him to raise these guinea pigs as a pilot, starting with a small number. If the returns are good, we will guide him from technical and other aspects to expand the scale.
