Bananas Rise in Price on Short Supply, Apples Struggle to Move in Volume: 2017 Week 48 Price Analysis

1. Bananas: This week, the average price of high-quality bananas in the main producing areas was 1.46 yuan/jin, up 0.13 from last week, a rise of 9.77%. This week, Guangxi (farmland, commercial and residential land, industrial land) saw rain and falling temperatures, and bananas face a relatively high risk of cold damage, so some traders shifted from Guangxi to Yunnan (farmland, commercial and residential land, industrial land) to look for goods. Traders seeking goods in Yunnan are more numerous, and banana farmers are generally driving a hard bargain. In the terminal market, the price of yellow bananas is rising slowly, there is insufficient momentum for banana prices to rise, and traders are less enthusiastic about participating in the market. The volume of bananas in the producing areas is not large, and in the short term banana prices in the producing areas will remain high. Forecasts say Yunnan will see frequent rain next week, banana shipment volume may not be large, banana farmers will drive a hard bargain, and banana prices may still rise within a narrow range。
2. Apples: In Shandong (farmland, commercial and residential land, industrial land), the ground-stored goods have come to an end, and Qixia cold storage has gradually begun to release a small amount of goods, with shipment volume not large and mainly grade-three fruit. The shipment price of small fruit is relatively high, about 25% higher than the same period last year.At present, high-priced goods are hard to sell in downstream markets, and ground-stored fruit is still mainly what is being sold. Although cold storage goods have begun to be sold, the actual volume moving is relatively small. In wholesalemarket demand is not strong, and the pace of goods moving is slow. Recently, market conditions have been poor, the pace of goods moving is slow, and traders are not enthusiastic about taking goods. It is expected that in the short termcold storage shipment volume will be relatively small and prices will be stable.
