Food-recycling cafe Shiguangguang adopts pay-what-you-feel
Food in Community, made up of UK residents, does not just give away the fruit and vegetables and other food it collects and then call it a day; it also uses "surplus food" to cook meals, holding a monthly "cook whatever there is" "Pay What You Feel Cafe" (PWYF Cafe), where customers pay as they wish, paying as much as they think the Cafe's food and service are worth.
"We set the menu based on what food we have on hand, usually including soup, a main course, vegetarian dishes, salad, bread, and sometimes dessert!" FIC director Chantelle and volunteers looked over the ingredients they had on hand: graded-out potatoes, carrots, cauliflower, pineapple, apples, pears, and apple juice donated by farms, plus mixed beans sent by the food bank….. The volunteers then decided to cook the simplest "eggplant mixed vegetable stew" (which is just stewing all the vegetables and mixed beans together =.=), potato salad, and pear and pineapple salad. They were still short of seasonings and staple foods, so they had to buy those at the supermarket.

Minimize Food Waste
When the PWYF cafe ended, there was still a lot left
