Taiwan-Japan-Korea School Lunch Study Visit Sharing Session Application Program Kicks Off
Most people travel abroad to find restaurants, enjoy good food, and check in at hotspots, but we go to schools and eat lunch with the kids!
What dishes are always on the menu for Korean school lunches? Why can students eat meals made with environmentally friendly ingredients for free? Campus ingredients, local agriculture, and community care work complement one another, creating a sustainable vision of rural-urban symbiosis.
Besides baseball, who knew that Japanese school lunches also have a national Koshien-style competition? Every year, more than 2,000 teams made up of school dietitians and cooks compete for the supreme honor of being number one in Japan. How has a specialized magazine founded in 1954 and dedicated to school lunches continued through six decades? A hundred flowers bloom in Japan's civil society actions, becoming a steadfast force for protecting children's health.
In Taiwan, China, the Daxiang Food Education Association organized the first National School Lunch Competition, joining hands with 24 school dietitians and chefs from 7 counties and cities who made it to the final round to write a historic new page, showcasing a new dining landscape on children's tables.
