Water-cultured anthurium is a plant with a strong affinity for water. However, growing it by water culture does come with some difficulty, so what are the growing methods and precautions? What nutrient solution should be used for water-cultured anthurium? Let's take a look together.

Water-cultured anthurium growing methods and precautions:
1. Cut off the rotten roots, hairy roots and old leaves of the anthurium, and wash its roots clean. Then disinfect them, using a potassium permanganate solution, then rinse the anthurium clean with clear water and place it into the water culture container. It is best not to use transparent glassware for water culture, because the anthurium is afraid of strong light. Diffused light is better, and the temperature should be kept above 10 degrees.
2. Change the water frequently; at the beginning, once every 3 days, and by about one month, once a week. Each time you change the water, add nutrient solution once, and the nutrient solution should be one specially made for water-cultured flowers.

3. Potting the anthurium for water culture. A semi-transparent one is a bit easier to work with. Put the anthurium roots into the water culture basket; river stones or clay pellets can be added to the basket so that the roots not submerged in water can still breathe from the air.

4. When there are many impurities in the water, it is time to change the water, and also wash the water culture pot; nutrient solution should not be added too frequently, as this will be bad for plant growth.

5. You can also keep fish in the water, but the fish must be small ones; this way the plants and fish can benefit each other and form a pleasing scene together.

Now that you know the growing methods and precautions for water-cultured anthurium, go ahead and try growing one yourself.
