Pingtung and Taichung Flora Expo mascots meet: Achieving a mutual-benefit effect through exchange

Visitor numbers at the Taichung Flora Expo have surpassed 3 million, and the wave of enthusiasm shows no sign of stopping, drawing mascots from various places to visit. After Chiba-kun, the mascot of Chiba Prefecture, Japan, and "Gaotongtong," the mascot of the Kaohsiung City Agriculture Bureau, toured the Waipu Park, Pingtung County's mascots "Congbao and Congwa" also came to Waipu Park yesterday (the 6th) to meet "Lehu" sister of the Flora Expo mascot stone tiger family, promoting the Taichung Flora Expo "Pingtung Week" from January 7 to 11. Taichung City Information Bureau Director-General Wu Huangsheng and Pingtung County Transportation and Tourism Department Director-General Huang Guowei were also present to join in the fun.

That afternoon, Information Bureau Director-General Wu Huangsheng and "Lehu" sister of the Flora Expo mascot stone tiger family received Pingtung County Transportation and Tourism Department Director-General Huang Guowei and the mascots Congbao and Congwa at Waipu Park. The two sides not only exchanged gifts but also held a prize quiz, with many children gathered at the scene eagerly competing to answer, making for lively interaction. Then both sides also entered the Lenong Hall for a visit. Congbao and Congwa were quite excited to see the "full-area soil-covering" crop landscape in the hall, and happily took photos with the beautiful scenery inside.

Information Bureau Director-General Wu Huangsheng said that through the exchange between the Taichung and Pingtung mascots, not only can the Taichung Flora Expo be promoted, but it also publicizes Pingtung's "2019 Taiwan Lantern Festival," achieving a mutual-benefit effect and driving economic development between the county and city. In the future, he also hopes to cooperate with mascots from various counties and cities to hold a float parade together at the Flora Expo, achieving even better economic benefits.

The Taichung City Information Bureau said that Taichung City has launched a "County and City Week" activity, inviting people from various counties and cities to take advantage of the discount period during County and City Week to purchase tickets at half price. From January 7 to 11, it is Pingtung Week's turn. During this period, Pingtung County residents can enjoy a half-price discount on full-price tickets by presenting identification documents, that is, 175 yuan per person. Everyone is welcome to visit the Flora Expo enthusiastically.
