Chiayi County's 2019 Lucky and Prosperous Lucao Spring Market Opens on the 12th

To welcome the arrival of the Year of the Pig, the Lucao Township Office held the "2019 Lucky and Prosperous Lucao Spring Market Event," which kicked off lively on January 12 at the plaza in front of the Lucao Township Office. Local communities, schools, and public welfare groups were invited to set up stalls and join the fun, hoping to inject a warm current of comfort into the cold winter.

On the day of the event, local calligrapher Mr. Ye Xinshou and renowned calligraphers Li Yingkun, Wu Qinghua, Weng Haoyu, Su Jinmao, Cao Shurui, and other masters were specially invited to write in flowing brushstrokes on site, writing New Year's blessings onto red paper for every household. Visitors participating in the market event only needed to spend 50 yuan at any stall to earn one point; after collecting five points, they could redeem one spring couplet or one cute pink pig-shaped balloon.

The market that day was full of both lively and quiet activities, including energetic dances by community and school groups, a two-person magic show that drew gasps of amazement, a fun and watchable bubble show, creative balloon twisting, a culture academy (creative works exhibition by Lucao Elementary School and Xinying Community College), spring couplet handwriting DIY, check-in and questionnaire filling, book fragrance giveaway (exchange a Chiayi County Library borrowing card for free good books), tax and environmental protection promotion (bring used batteries and designated recyclables to exchange for small gifts), and more. Everyone is welcome to come to the site to hunt for treasures and welcome spring.
