Monologue of a Drifter in the North | I Have a Field in Taipei, China

After an event once ended, children from several families sat in a row in front of the closed sanheyuan for a group photo. When the photo was sent to me via private message, the sender did not forget to add a thank-you.

I feel fortunate that, as a drifter in the north, I have a field in Taipei, China. I think I am the one who should be expressing thanks. Thank you for loving my hometown, my old home. As the 18th generation of farmers, I am even more grateful that those before me selflessly left behind the land, giving me the chance to share it with others.

Walking on the road back to my hometown, I only then realized how far away home truly is. On the road traveled alone, I met many companions. Perhaps we only accompanied each other for part of the journey, yet they could make courage grow from within and let one move forward again.
