Even with higher fines, people are still trying to get through! To prevent African swine fever, the maximum fine for illegally bringing in meat from China is 1 million. Today (the 14th), the first day the rule took effect, seven violations occurred! The Taipei Customs Administration under the Customs Administration and the Bureau of Animal and Plant Health Inspection and Quarantine today intercepted at Taoyuan Airport seven cases in which travelers of Chinese, Taiwan, and Vietnamese nationality, using checked and carry-on baggage, brought in three pork ham sausages, two chicken ham sausages, one chicken item, one meatball, and one pork item. Three of the cases were fined 50,000 yuan, and four were fined 30,000 yuan.
