Three Chinese passengers bring three meat products into Taiwan, attempting again at Taoyuan Airport: two pork sausages and one chicken sausage
Even with higher fines, people still try to breach! To block African swine fever, the maximum fine for illegally bringing meat products from China is 1 million; today (the 14th), the first day it took effect, three violations occurred! The Taipei Customs of the Customs Administration and the Bureau of Animal and Plant Health Inspection and Quarantine today intercepted three cases at Taoyuan Airport in which Chinese passengers carried two pork ham sausages and one chicken ham sausage through customs in checked and carry-on baggage respectively. The first two cases were fined 50,000 yuan, and the chicken ham sausage was fined 30,000 yuan. The Bureau of Animal and Plant Health Inspection and Quarantine urges the public not to bring any meat products; pork, chicken, and beef products all constitute violations.
