Bean Know-How [Farming Experience][Cooking Together][Four Seasons Lecture]

Planting beans beneath the southern mountain, weeds flourish while the bean sprouts grow thin; rising at dawn to clear the wild growth, returning with the moon, hoe on shoulder.
The path is narrow where grass and trees grow tall, evening dew soaks my clothes; wet clothes are not worth lamenting, so long as my wish is not betrayed.
~ Tao Yuanming ~

This year, Haofeng Household Farm is trying for the first time to plant soybeans (green-kernel black beans) in a fallow field. Besides opening up reservations for a picking experience, a full-day bean-related event has been specially planned for 12/23 (Sun).

It includes going into the field to pick beans, hands-on cooking of a bean lunch and a game experience of the ups and downs of planting beans, plus the [Four Seasons Lecture] held each season - GMO Food Under the Microscope, with "Homemakers United Foundation Environmental Protection Foundation teacher Zhang Yayun" specially invited to explain. Taiwan uses a great deal of soybeans (yellow soybeans, black beans & edamame), and most of these are imported GMO soybeans. What exactly is the situation of GMO food in Taiwan? What impact does the use of GMO crops have on humans and the environment? And how should we choose in daily life? Let's find out together!

Event fee: 600 yuan/1 adult; 450 yuan/1 elementary-school child
