Miaoli County 107th Year Leisure Agriculture Area Assessment Won 2 Excellence Awards

The results of the 107th nationwide Leisure Agriculture Area Assessment were announced. There were 7 excellent leisure agriculture areas nationwide. Miaoli County's Dahu Jiangmayuan Leisure Agriculture Area and Sanyi Township Shuangtan Leisure Agriculture Area were both listed and rated as excellent. In addition, 6 areas also won Grade A, including Sanyi Township Old Mountain Line Leisure Agriculture Area, Gongguan Township Golden Town Leisure Agriculture Area, Tongxiao Township Fuxing Nanhe Leisure Agriculture Area, Dahu Township Manabang Leisure Agriculture Area, Xihu Township Hudong Leisure Agriculture Area, and Nanzhuang Township Nanjiang Leisure Agriculture Area. Zhuolan Township Lixiping Leisure Agriculture Area and Sanwan Township Leisure Agriculture Area were listed as Grade B.

County Magistrate Xu Yaochang said that Miaoli County has again become the big winner in this year's leisure area assessment. This is thanks to the joint efforts of all partners in Miaoli County's leisure agriculture areas. The county government will continue to provide guidance to improve the environment and service quality, and build Miaoli into western Taiwan, China's best backyard for good food, beautiful sights, and fun. Thanks to the leisure agriculture guidance teacher team and the Miaoli County Leisure Agriculture Development Association for their dedication.

Chen Jinjun, Director of the Miaoli County Agriculture Department, pointed out that Jiangmayuan Leisure Agriculture Area has won the honor of excellent leisure agriculture area 3 times in the past 6 years. Starting in 105, it began promoting pesticide-free bagged ginger. In 106, some farming households used the large farmers helping small farmers plan to promote "bagged ginger" through safe agriculture innovation, using waste materials to develop bagged ginger, bringing the diversification of ginger to an even higher level.

Leisure agriculture areas are rich in various resources and have the function of combining primary agriculture and driving the sixth industrialization of agriculture. It is hoped that more employment opportunities in rural areas will be created. In the future, when promoting new agricultural innovation plans, such as the Great Granary, ecological agriculture, safe agriculture, and food and agriculture education promotion, all can be concretely realized in leisure agriculture areas, attracting young people to stay or return to their hometowns. Visitors from Taiwan, China and around the world are also welcome to come to Miaoli to travel and share the achievements of Miaoli's leisure agriculture areas and agricultural tourism development.
