Fruit picking must be tacky? Chiayi Persimmon Brother plays it with a trendy attitude!

To promote persimmons grown in Fanlu Township, Chiayi County, Persimmon Brother personally stepped up to demonstrate a 10-shot persimmon-picking photo series. Whether it was "cute pouty face," "kabedon confession," "cool MIB Men in Black," or even the representative work "The Thinker" by Rodin, the most famous 20th-century French sculptor, none of them stumped him. Liao Zhixin, owner of the local "Persimmon Brother Farm" in Fanlu, said that Fanlu is mainly the production side, while Beipu in Hsinchu is the processing side. Most dried persimmons are made from Fanlu persimmons, but the Hsinchu side has higher interaction with consumers. Many consumers do not know that Fanlu produces persimmons, so the farm transformed and opened fruit picking to the public. In addition to marketing Fanlu as a major persimmon-producing town, it also combines sightseeing and guided tours to bring visitors a different travel experience.

Tang Shuhui, the hostess of "Persimmon Brother Farm" at No. 6 Pineapple Farm, Chukou Village, Fanlu Township, pointed out that the persimmon (Ox-heart persimmon) season ends at the end of November. Next, they also grow the rare "Diamond Honey Persimmon," which likewise offers visitors a fruit-picking experience. "The fruit you pick yourself is the sweetest." The picked persimmons can be eaten after vacuum de-astringent processing.

Xu Youren, Director-General of the Chiayi County Cultural and Tourism Bureau, pointed out that Chiayi County is a major granary of Taiwan's agricultural production. Leisure agriculture tourism is the current trend and also the focus of future tourism development. Sightseeing is not limited to scenic spots; local tourism can be promoted through various forms, such as religious tourism, fruit-picking experience tourism, and medical tourism, guiding tourist groups toward diversification and providing suitable package itineraries for the domestic travel market or international tourists. In the future, it will move toward diversified tourism development, combining local young farmers and leisure agriculture to jointly promote itinerary planning.
