The Tourism Bureau of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications announces the results of Taiwan's Top 10 Hot Spring Gourmet Food Selection

In Taiwan's hot spring towns, so that visiting travelers can not only enjoy a good soak but also be served healthy and delicious "hot spring cuisine" based on the concept of "eat local, eat seasonal," after on-site evaluation by experts, hot spring cuisine in the form of "individual set meals" and "group table meals" was presented on November 20. The "2018 Taiwan Top 10 Hot Spring Gourmet Food Selection Results Announcement Ceremony and Awards Ceremony Press Conference" will be held on November 20 at the Grand Hi-Lai Hotel in Kaohsiung, and the winners will also offer grand prizes, with limited-time discounts of "buy 7 get 1 free" for individual set meals and 10% off for group meals.

Honorary Chairman Guo Hongche of the Chinese Gourmet Exchange Association stated that this gourmet food selection event is mainly divided into two major categories: "table dishes" and "plated set meals." Meat dishes, vegetarian dishes, and Muslim dishes may all register to participate. The scoring focuses on 5 major criteria: "taste and creativity," "localness and culture," "health and wellness," "speed and quality," and "shop management," allowing participating shops to make full use of local ingredients and showcase local cultural characteristics, and giving chefs from each region a chance to show their skills. In response to the different dietary preferences of travelers in Taiwan, the selection process also invited professional judges from industry, government, and academia to visit participating businesses on site to conduct scoring, interviews, and side-shot evaluations, strictly safeguarding the public's food safety so that people can have fun and eat with even more peace of mind.

The detailed list can be checked on the Ministry of Transportation and Communications official website. In addition, the Tourism Bureau has also integrated the winning shops to jointly launch limited discounts on the award-winning gourmet food: "for set meals, when 7 people dine together, 1 person eats free; for table dishes, 10% off per table" (except for Grand View Resort Beitou). The deadline is until January 20, 108; in addition, individual winning shops also provide diverse offers such as in-store gifts. It is hoped that domestic and international tourists, while experiencing Taiwan's diverse and high-quality hot springs, can also taste the most distinctive local gourmet cuisine, creating the hottest hot spring travel topic of this winter.
