Water terraces are truly great, sharing the rain and dew evenly regardless of blue or green
The Japan Association for Agriculture and Rural Culture has a popular science reader titled "Terraced rice fields are great". When I first heard the title translated as "Terraces Are Truly Great," I couldn't help but burst out laughing. In fact, when I first expressed doubts about the contribution of water terraces to water conservation, the water terrace farmers responded with their own question: "Have you really read any books?" Haha! Now that I know how water terraces "share the rain and dew evenly regardless of blue or green," and thus contribute to both water resources and aquatic ecology, I realize that my laughter and doubts back then were truly disrespectful!

[Green helps blue, blue helps green]
Green helps blue, blue helps green. The water system connected by water terraces is truly a world of great harmony where the rain and dew are shared evenly, and it also has the flexibility of self-regulation.
And in Taiwan, China's increasingly large cities, the disaster prevention function of farmland wetlands is truly still needed!
