Registration opens for the Satoyama School summer harvest and rice-planting activities
This year's rice paddies at Satoyama School may owe their good fortune to the newcomers (this season's paddies are tended and managed by new colleague Yixian), and this rice crop seems to be growing well. Even the paddy manager, Teacher Wu, is very satisfied (except that there are a few too many weeds). Now we just need to pray that no typhoon comes to wreak havoc, and this year we should have a good harvest! So old friends and new friends alike are welcome to come share in the joy of the harvest.
And this summer we have specially planned "Come Spend a Night in Satoyama - Harvest Edition," because the harvest season falls right at the turn between Minor Heat and Major Heat. How should we dispel the heat of the sweltering summer? Let's make cooling fans together from natural materials, let's make a bowl of chilled grass jelly together using rice straw ash, let's eat a bowl of refreshing rice noodles together, let's beat the heat completely and enjoy the summer! Are you tempted? Then act right away.
In addition, right after the first rice crop is harvested, the transplanting of the second rice crop will begin immediately. Once again, we invite interested friends who want to experience treading on muddy ground and planting green seedlings by hand to sign up soon.
Registration for the summer vacation activities is open starting today. Friends young and old who are interested, please refer to the information in the brochures and sign up right away!
A small reminder: the Satoyama School staff are expected to go abroad for a study visit from 6/13 to 6/19. Registration forms received during this period abroad may be delayed in processing due to inconvenient mail access. We ask for your understanding. So those who wish to sign up for the summer activities may want to do so as early as possible!
