New potato variety Zhongmiao No. 4: high yield and strong disease resistance

Many people enjoy potato chips and french fries made from potatoes. Domestic potatoes are mainly the foreign variety "Kennebec," which easily contracts the fatal late blight when humidity is high, wiping out an entire season's harvest. The Council of Agriculture's Seed Improvement Station yesterday announced its newly developed variety "Zhongmiao No. 4," which not only yields 70% more than Kennebec but also resists late blight. In the same field plot, 90% of Kennebec was infected, while Zhongmiao No. 4 remained robust and healthy, and it can reduce pesticide use by at least one-third. Organic growers have already come to inquire.
