Changnan Industrial Park Development Project: Fertile Farmland to Factories, High-Speed Rail Safety May Be Affected
The "Changnan Industrial Park" promoted by the Changhua County Government is expected to expropriate 98 hectares of Taiwan Sugar Corporation farmland to introduce the rubber industry. The planned site is less than two kilometers from the high-speed rail, and the surrounding area is all farmland. Once a tire factory is built, not only may high-speed rail operational safety be affected, but there are also concerns about land subsidence and farmland contamination.
