Event | November 29, 2018 "Community Kitchen of Korea's Haja Center and East Asian Urban-Rural Exchange Experience Sharing" @Taipei

In 1999, the Haja Center, founded by Cho Han Hye-jung, through alternative culture and education outside the system, with the philosophy of self-governed learning and hands-on practice, helps young people give full play to their expertise, develops community building, sustainable living and social innovation projects, and has become an important behind-the-scenes driving force behind the birth of multiple social enterprises.

The speaker of this lecture, Mr. Kim Yu-ik, long served as a financial IT consultant and project manager for multinational corporations. From 2012, he decided to change course, first living in rural Tokyo, Japan for one year, then returning to Seoul and working at the Haja Center for two years, actually participating in the community kitchen project. From 2016, he went to China, devoting himself to transnational coordination work in organic farming, urban-rural exchange, and East Asian youth cultural exchange.

The preparatory office of the Great Share Food Education Association and the Campus Lunch Anti-GMO Action Team, taking advantage of Mr. Kim Yu-ik's brief stop in Taiwan on this trip, specially invited him to share his urban-rural exchange experiences traveling through various East Asian countries over the years, hoping to offer partners in Taiwan who care about sustainable living, ecological agriculture and community development another cross-boundary perspective.
