2018 Taoyuan Hakka Traditional Music Festival - Hakka Bayin Makes Merry

Taoyuan Mayor Cheng Wen-tsan yesterday (the 7th) afternoon went to Terminal 2 of Taoyuan International Airport to attend the "2018 Hakka Traditional Music Festival - Hakka Bayin Makes Merry" event. Mayor Cheng Wen-tsan said that Taoyuan is the first Hakka village, and Hakka culture is a highlight of Taoyuan. This event was organized by the Department of Hakka Affairs in cooperation with Tasa Meng Duty Free Shop, the first time a Hakka bayin performance was held at an international airport, filling the international airport with Hakka atmosphere. It also used a small street parade format to give domestic and international tourists a new cultural experience, and it is hoped that in the future the international airport can showcase more local products and local culture.

The "Hecheng Bayin Troupe" she founded has a very high performance standard and has become a representative of Taoyuan Hakka bayin.

Hakka Affairs Director He Ming-kuang said that the Department of Hakka Affairs and Tasa Meng Duty Free Shop for the first time jointly held the "2018 Hakka Traditional Music Festival - Hakka Bayin Makes Merry" event in Boarding Corridor D of Terminal 2 of Taoyuan International Airport, inviting the "Hecheng Bayin Troupe," which received the Chinese Culture and Arts Heritage Award - Hakka Culture Award, to perform Hakka bayin mainly featuring suona, huqin, gongs and cymbals. The "2018 Hakka Traditional Music Festival" this year (Year 107 of the Republic of China) has entered its 3rd year. The "Hakka Traditional Music Lecture" began on November 3. Registration for the mountain song singing competition runs until November 28, and registration for the lyric-writing competition runs until November 22.
