Zuoying, Kaohsiung leafy vegetable base, fresh supply across Taiwan

Among fruits and vegetables, leafy greens are probably the most indispensable on the dining table. Compared with the snowy winters and droughts of the north, vegetable gardens across Taiwan produce vegetables all year round. In Taiwanese buffet restaurants, vegetables of all colors make up more than half of the dishes, providing a constant supply of nutritional fiber, affordable and delicious.

Ziguan District in Kaohsiung is an important vegetable-producing area in the south, producing high-quality and safe short-term leafy vegetables. The farmers' association and production-marketing groups bear the responsibility of supplying and regulating production, and must also face difficult challenges ahead. The Breeze Market, which brings together Kaohsiung's organic smallholders, is trying to launch a consolidated cargo home delivery service, promoting Kaohsiung's safe fruits and vegetables in another way during the low sales period.
