Taiwan's first Golden Rural Competition has kicked off, with county and city governments following suit one after another

Executive Yuan Council of Agriculture"First Golden Rural Competition", billed asthe Oscars of Taiwan's agricultural sectorAfter officially kicking off on January 17, 2017, the Taichung City Government was the first to hold a briefing session on January 25, followed by the Chiayi City, Miaoli County and Tainan City governments. So far about 130 rural communities have attended the briefing sessions, with the Miaoli County Government drawing the most enthusiasm - more than 50 communities showed up on the day of its briefing session, making it currently the county or city with the strongest momentum. Many local township offices and farmers' associations have also enthusiastically taken part, and the rest of Taiwan's counties and cities will launch one after another in the coming days.

The countryside is the true source of a nation's wealth - this is one of the famous sayings of Francois Quesnay, founder and leader of the French Physiocrats. Therefore, whether or not we are in the countryside, grew up in the countryside, or live in the countryside, supporting this competition is equivalent to supporting and identifying with this land of Taiwan. At the same time, every county and city is sure to have a representative participating community, and every Taiwanese person is sure to have a hometown of their own taking part. Just as golden hero Chang Tai-shan said, every rural community is like a baseball team, taking part in the competition to create local glory. I believe that before long all of Taiwan will feel a surge of competitive energy and enthusiasm. Let us support and promote it together, and witness the miracle of Taiwan's countryside together,Golden Rural GO GO GOLD!
