After the opening ceremony ended, everyone went to view the bonsai. Elegant bonsai, towering pines and cypresses, graceful pomegranates, beautiful ornamental stones, all vying in splendor. Row after row of bonsai decorations, group after group of guests gathering happily, the beautiful and quiet Yue Garden seemed to "come alive." Golden fruits like lanterns, like pendants; deep green leaves supporting fruits, setting off flowers; sturdy twisted branches like coiled dragons, like sinews and bones; one pot, one plant, one tree, all scenery; one stop, one turn of the head, one glance, full of delight.

Wu Jicheng from Jiangsu brought more than 20 works this time representing the Jiangsu region, and his work "Old Persimmon" won the Gold Award. Wu Jicheng said that he has reached the point of obsession with bonsai, and even handed his own business over to his wife to manage while he devoted himself entirely to bonsai art. "Playing with bonsai has brought me great changes. I used to love playing cards, but after I started with bonsai, I simply had no time to play cards, because I had to carefully take care of my bonsai." Bonsai is "alive"; everyone who grows bonsai will get to know it and converse with it, and the response it gives is a different flavor in spring, summer, autumn and winter, intoxicating.

Xu Hao, Executive Vice President of the China Bonsai Artists Association, praised this exhibition repeatedly: "From this exhibition, it can be seen that Wuyi's bonsai development in recent years has been very good. This bonsai exhibition gathers fine works and provides citizens with an opportunity to appreciate bonsai art, and it is also a strong driving force for raising the level of bonsai development."

It is understood that this bonsai exhibition featured a total of 110 exhibited works (including small bonsai pieces). Among them, more than 60 fine works were specially invited from many bonsai artists from Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Shanghai, Anhui and other places, covering multiple schools and diverse styles. The China Bonsai Artists Association organized bonsai art masters to conduct the judging, and a total of 4 Gold Awards, 6 Silver Awards and 9 Bronze Awards were selected.

"Bonsai is an elegant traditional art form that balances 'self-cultivation, character development and aesthetics,' and it is highly consistent with the connotation of the 'Wellness Wuyi' concept that our county vigorously promotes. This bonsai exhibition can not only open a new window for our county to promote wellness culture, but will also certainly further promote the inheritance and carrying forward of Chinese bonsai art," said a person in charge of the relevant county department.
