As more and more people take up gardening, many of my friends around me like to grow some flowers and plants. In the daily process of gardening, I have also discovered all kinds of gardening tips and experience. For example, burying eggshells in flower pots to supplement nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, calcium and other elements for plant growth and promote plant growth; when cleaning the range hood at home, burying the waste oil in flower pots to provide nitrogen fertilizer for plant growth, and so on. These gardening tips can not only provide nutrients for plant growth, but are also a good way to reuse waste.

In the daily process of gardening, people who love growing flowers always use a lot of household waste as fertilizer for their plants. Generally, for people who grow flowers, they need to fertilize their flowers every year in spring and autumn, because plants can only grow quickly with sufficient nutrients. Today I want to share with you that in daily life, after potatoes sprout, processing them into fertilizer for growing flowers works very well. It is not only convenient to use, but also works even better than nutrient solution and soybean fertilizer.

Turn sprouted potatoes into mashed potato and bury it in flower pots

In daily life, potatoes are a common vegetable in many households. When the potatoes at home sprout, never eat them, because sprouted potatoes are slightly toxic and bad for human health. When the potatoes at home sprout, you can put the potatoes in a pot and boil them, then mash them into mashed potato, then use a spoon to bury a spoonful of mashed potato in the flower pots of your pothos, spider plant and clivia, and then cover it with soil.

Because sprouted potatoes contain a large amount of salicylic acid. Friends who grow flowers all know that salicylic acid is a nutrient that can promote rapid rooting and growth of plants. When potatoes sprout, they are rich in salicylic acid. After the potatoes are made into mashed potato and buried in flower pots, the salicylic acid in the potatoes can promote plant growth, and potatoes contain a large amount of starch and protein, providing nitrogen fertilizer and phosphorus fertilizer for plant growth. With rich nutrients, the flowers can grow quickly.

Warm tips

When using mashed potato, be sure to control the amount of fertilizer. Generally, in a flower pot with a diameter of 15 cm, add a small spoonful of mashed potato, then cover it with soil, and let the mashed potato ferment naturally later to provide nutrients for plant growth. For example, if you have pothos, spider plant, clivia, snake plant or money tree at home, you can bury mashed potato in the soil to promote rapid growth of the plant's roots and leaves. In the daily care process, you can bury 1 spoonful in the flower pot every month, which is completely enough to meet the plant's growth needs, especially in spring and autumn each year, when the fertilizing effect is the best.

Use mashed potato for plant cuttings

When taking flower cuttings, you can also dilute mashed potato with water, then soak the trimmed cuttings in the solution. Use 1 spoonful of mashed potato mixed with 500 g of clean water. After diluting, soak the cuttings of Christmas cactus, snake plant, kalanchoe, pothos, Chinese rose and lucky bamboo in the mashed potato solution for 30 minutes, so that after the plants absorb salicylic acid, they will root quickly in later growth.

Some flower lovers also say that growing flowers is closest to life, because in daily life, you can combine gardening with life. Many household waste materials can be made into fertilizer for growing flowers to promote plant growth. They work even better than flower fertilizer, and you also save the trouble of buying nutrient solution and fermenting soybean fertilizer.
