On October 23, a chrysanthemum show cultural event with the theme "Chrysanthemums bloom to celebrate golden autumn, the river city dresses up to welcome the Military World Games" was held at Hankou Jiangtan (Fengfan Square).

The scene was lively and colorful, with floral art performances, calligraphy and painting performances, and free chrysanthemum show commemorative bookmarks, celebrating the "Golden Autumn Chrysanthemum Show," a grand event for everyone, with romance and poetry.

As the breeze stirs, expanses of reed flowers sway in the wind like a dancing white silk, graceful and elegant. Under the bright sunshine, the colorful chrysanthemums are like smiling faces welcoming guests from all directions. At the event, Wuhan senior floral artist Chen Jin delivered a wonderful display of aesthetics for the guests.

Teacher Chen Jin used a silver high-heeled shoe as a flower vessel to demonstrate modern floral art (emphasizing the professional use of point, line, plane and color), using steel grass as curves, with yellow gerbera daisies and purple wild chrysanthemums setting each other off. In the blink of an eye, a playful work of art appeared before everyone.

Members of the public on site asked Teacher Chen Jin questions about flower vessels and the selection of flowers commonly used in home floral art, and Teacher Chen answered them one by one.

Flower materials can be chosen in cool color schemes, warm color schemes, complementary color schemes, etc., and need to be matched according to the occasion. For example, in the hot summer weather, you can use refreshing colors such as green and white; for another example, in children's bedrooms, you can choose brightly colored flowers such as gerbera daisies to make the bedroom more cozy.

After demonstrating modern floral art to everyone, Teacher Chen Jin took out materials such as osmanthus branches and decorative ornamental rocks to present a traditional Chinese floral art performance.

Gently handling the bird's-nest fern to bring out its curved beauty; pruning the osmanthus branches to show the beauty of a tree in bloom; inserting lilies to add more softness to the whole composition.

Teacher Chen explained that in traditional floral art, lilies symbolize a harmonious union lasting a hundred years, osmanthus symbolizes good fortune, and red beans symbolize beautiful love. Materials with such beautiful meanings are often used.

Through this format of live floral art performances combined with interactive communication, the public gained a further understanding of the charm of floral art. In addition, Teacher Chen Jin gave floral artworks to the public, allowing them to bring the beauty of green living home.

Not far from the chrysanthemum show cultural event is the Jiang'an District chrysanthemum landscaping display. "Yangtze River New City and the Military World Games Soar Together" takes Chinese style as its theme, paired with dark wooden furniture, with a winding path leading to a secluded spot, each step revealing a different scene, with distinct layers.

"Phoenix and Bird Bring Auspiciousness" symbolizes friendship and peace, highlighting the long history and culture of the land of Jingchu and the spirit of actively participating in the Military World Games. The rainbow and white doves symbolize friendship and peace, and the sports figure sculptures highlight the firm and unyielding military bearing of soldiers with an extremely strong and athletic posture.
