Frost's Descent is coming, and many flower lovers are starting their winter preparations. Some people have made a mini greenhouse using just a few pieces of wire and a plastic bag, and the insulation effect is excellent. You can't help but admire the creativity of flower lovers. Now follow Huahua and learn together!

Plastic film + wire = mini greenhouse

How to do it

1. Prepare materials: soft wire or aluminum wire; greenhouse film; seedling basket; small clips

2. Tie the wire to both sides of the seedling basket to form 2 triangular spaces.

3. Cut the greenhouse film into the shape shown in the picture below

4. Drape the greenhouse film over the seedling basket. The apex of the triangle on the side just leaves 2 openings for ventilation; clip the bottom and sides tightly with small clips.

Done. The mini greenhouse is complete. Now let's look at its insulation effect!

Put this mini greenhouse outdoors. After one night, the test results show that during the day the temperature inside the greenhouse is 23 and the humidity is 68; outside the greenhouse the temperature is 6 and the humidity is 53. It's clear the insulation effect is very good!

Note: greenhouse film is much thicker than ordinary plastic bags and also has very good light transmission, so it can ensure the temperature rises without affecting light. Ordinary plastic bags also work, but the insulation effect will be a bit worse.

When flower lovers make their own, they don't need to be so particular. Just use a plastic bag to enclose a small greenhouse above the flower pot.

When there are many flowers at home, if flower lovers don't mind the trouble, they might as well make a larger greenhouse, such as the one below

Besides the simple greenhouse above, flower lovers can also make a small seedling greenhouse, so that even in winter the seedlings can still take root and sprout.

PVC pipe + plastic film = small seedling greenhouse

How to do it

1. Buy a few PVC pipes online and build a small frame as shown in the picture below

2. Drape the plastic film over the frame, leave a few openings at the front, and seal all the remaining gaps.

3. Put the flower pots inside, poke a few holes in the top of the film for ventilation; after the seedlings emerge, to increase light, you can place a small desk lamp inside.

If you don't have PVC pipes, you can use old wires instead. In short, do whatever is convenient.

If you still think the methods above are too troublesome, then only the simplest and most direct method below is left!

Cover with a plastic bag / plastic bottle for insulation and moisture retention

1. Cover with a plastic bag

If a certain potted flower is very prone to frost damage, directly put a plastic bag over the pot, poke a few holes in the bag, and it becomes an independent mini greenhouse. It's very suitable for lazy people.

2. Cover with a plastic bottle

Find a plastic bottle with a large opening, poke a few holes in the bottom, and invert it over the flower pot. It can provide very good insulation and moisture retention. This method is more suitable for short succulents.
