I wonder, have you all noticed the rich scent of osmanthus when walking around normally? This is exactly the season when osmanthus is in full bloom, and the fragrant scent of osmanthus drifts through many places. Osmanthus is a very popular plant, because we can use its flowers to make osmanthus cake and osmanthus biscuits, and we can also brew them into osmanthus wine, so everyone likes it very much. But few people grow osmanthus at home, because people cannot master the method of growing osmanthus, so they do not dare to try it easily. In fact, the method of growing osmanthus is not difficult either; as long as you master it, it is a simple method.

When we grow potted osmanthus, we definitely have to choose the osmanthus first. Generally, we must choose a very healthy osmanthus branch; a branch with relatively more leaves on it is relatively healthy. The decomposition ability of osmanthus branches is very strong, so their deep rooting is also very fast.

When we insert the osmanthus branch into the soil, we need to cut off all the leaves on the whole branch, then leave only three or four leaves below the base, then cut the osmanthus branch with scissors into a 45-degree diagonal cut, and then insert it into the soil. This is to allow the branch to absorb the nutrients in the soil more fully, and then promote the growth of its own roots.

If we are worried that doing this will make it very difficult for the branch to take root, then we can first not insert it into the soil. We can first soak the branch in the rooting water we have prepared for about half an hour, then take it out and dry it in the sun. Next, insert it into the soil we have prepared, but remember that our soil must be moist. After inserting the osmanthus, we cannot water it, so beforehand we must keep the soil moist. Before long, you will certainly find that the osmanthus branch has already sent out new tender buds.

Although the cuttings have already been completed, we still need to prepare a layer of plastic wrap and then wrap the osmanthus branch with it. This is to keep the growing temperature of the osmanthus constant, and also to keep the moisture in the flowerpot from evaporating so easily. Because during this period we cannot water it, we can only try to ensure that the moisture evaporates a little more slowly, and we must place it in a shaded environment for care. It is too fragile and cannot be exposed directly to sunlight yet. After about a week, if we find that the branch has already grown new tender buds, then we can remove the plastic wrap, because it is already able to grow normally, so we can then grow it normally.

In the later growing process, we must be careful to place our flowerpot under the sunlight as much as possible, so that it can absorb enough sunlight. But if it is winter, then we must move the potted plant indoors for growing, because the temperature outside is too low and it cannot tolerate such a low temperature.

In other seasons, it can be placed outside on the balcony, because the fragrance of osmanthus is very fragrant. Even if it is placed outside on the balcony, we can still smell the fragrance of osmanthus, and outside is more suitable for its growth. Outside, it can meet our requirements.
