Today is Frost's Descent, and sure enough the temperature has started to drop. Outside, the tree leaves are drifting and falling, but the few potted plants at home seem to have started turning yellow too. What should I do? A quick science lesson: when the plants at home develop yellow leaves, here is what you should do! I can only use a few individual plants as examples; the rest follow the same logic:

Radermachera sinica (China doll)

Radermachera sinica is very easy to grow. If its soil is covered with fallen leaves, there are only two reasons: one is a sudden change in environment, and the other is air that is too dry.

Right after repotting, or if you suddenly move the Radermachera sinica away from its original environment, it will drop a large number of leaves. This situation is not serious; it just needs time to adjust to the new pot, and it usually improves in about half a month!

But if autumn arrives, the weather is dry, and the indoor air humidity is also low, the Radermachera sinica will develop yellow leaves. At this point you need to replenish moisture in time, otherwise the yellowing will spiral out of control! The solution is to spray water to raise the humidity; watering alone will not help. Just sprinkle water directly on the floor, or spray the leaves.

Golden pothos (Epipremnum aureum)

There are many reasons pothos leaves turn yellow, but one needs to be ruled out first: on a pothos that has been growing for a while, the layer of leaves near the soil surface easily turns yellow. This is not improper care, but the natural aging of the leaves.

Reasons pothos leaves turn yellow in autumn: First, overwatering. In autumn, evaporation is naturally slower, so if you keep watering the same way as before, the plant will definitely get waterlogged. If this is the cause of your yellow leaves, you should know what to do! Second, lack of light. In autumn and winter, gardening friends usually move their plants away from the windows, which both keeps out wind and prevents freezing. But one drawback is the lack of sunlight; although pothos is shade-tolerant, it still cannot go without light all the time! So check where your pothos is placed and give it a suitable amount of sunlight!

Money tree (Pachira aquatica)

No matter the season, there is only one reason for yellow leaves on a money tree: incorrect watering. Whether too much or too little water, it will cause the leaves to turn yellow. So the best way to solve yellow leaves on a money tree is to control watering.

There are also many other plants with yellowing leaves, and I will not list them all for you one by one!
