I wonder if everyone has the same thought as Huahua, that is, after growing flowers for a long time, you always want to buy a few more new plants and flowers, and browsing the flower market seems to have become a habit. Although the price of a pot of flowers is not too high, over time it still adds up to a considerable expense.

In fact, many times we can completely save this money, because most plants and flowers can be propagated by cuttings, and after the cuttings are done, it is equivalent to getting a brand-new plant, and you can also grow it from the beginning. It is autumn now, which is just right for cuttings. Since we are on this topic, Huahua will recommend some little tricks for cutting flowers. You should know that when taking cuttings of these 3 kinds of flowers, dip each in a little something, and in 7 days big white roots will sprout!

1. Kalanchoe blossfeldiana

Kalanchoe blossfeldiana is a very popular flower for autumn care, and the best seasons for its cuttings are spring and autumn. We can take cuttings and pot them now, so that we can see the flowers bloom next year. For Kalanchoe blossfeldiana cuttings, it is best to choose branches from the current year, as this can ensure the survival rate of the cuttings. After the branches are ready, we need to trim them into small sections of about 8 cm, keeping only the two leaves at the top.

Now comes the highlight. After we prepare loose and fertile cutting soil, before inserting the branches into the soil, we can first dip them in a little aspirin tablet solution, so rooting and sprouting will be faster.

This solution is made by crushing aspirin tablets from home and mixing them with water at a ratio of 1:1000 to dilute. In this way, we can put the Kalanchoe blossfeldiana cuttings into the water and soak them for 3 days, and they will grow small white sprouts. Finally, planting them in the soil of a flowerpot will allow them to grow even better.

2. Schlumbergera

After enduring the high temperatures of a summer, Schlumbergera has finally begun to grow with all its strength. Autumn is the growing season for Schlumbergera, and this is the most suitable time for cuttings. For Schlumbergera cuttings, you can choose leaves that have been pruned off, so they will not go to waste. Before taking cuttings, we need to trim the leaves to a size of about 6 cm.

Before taking cuttings of Schlumbergera, we can use "willow branch water" to help it take root. Willow branch water is a solution made by cleaning and disinfecting willow branches collected from the roadside, crushing them, then adding water and fermenting them. Because it contains a large amount of acidic substances, the effect of using it for rooting is very good.

In this way, we put the Schlumbergera leaves into the willow branch water, change the water once every three days, and after about a week has passed, we can see small root seedlings emerging.

3. Osmanthus

While walking along the roadside, have you smelled waves of light osmanthus fragrance? It is now officially the season when osmanthus is in full bloom, with small pale yellow flowers hanging all over the branches, a very beautiful sight. In fact, we can also take cuttings and grow osmanthus potted plants at home ourselves. For the branches, we had best choose those from the current year, then trim them to about 10 cm, leaving only 4 leaves.

Before taking osmanthus cuttings, you can soak the branches in white sugar solution. White sugar solution is made by mixing 1 gram of white sugar and 100 grams of water in proportion, and it can promote sprouting. After soaking, we then insert the branches into the soil, and after one month we can see robust small seedlings.

The autumn temperature is cool, making it the most suitable time for cuttings. Friends who love flowers must not miss this good time, otherwise if you regret it, you will have to wait until next year!
