Lucky Bamboo Grown in a Cup of Water Becomes a Family Heirloom: 2 Meters Tall, Not for Sale Even at 10,000 Yuan

Many people love growing lucky bamboo. It could be said to be the indoor plant with the best symbolism, but few people manage to grow one with a truly prosperous look. Huahua recently happened to see a 2-meter-tall lucky bamboo at a friend's home. It was especially grand, and I was so envious. Let's take a look together below!
A 2-meter-tall lucky bamboo, grand and prosperous
The lucky bamboo my friend grows in water has 12 stems in total and has been grown for 2 years. During that time there was not much care: when the water ran low, just add water, and no nutrient solution was ever used. As a result, it grew taller and taller, almost poking the ceiling!

Some flower lovers have also grown lucky bamboo like this. In autumn and winter, placing it in the living room gives you face!
After seeing other people's lucky bamboo, are you envious? Below, Huahua will teach everyone how to grow lucky bamboo well!
How to grow lucky bamboo in water?
1. Cut the base at an angle
The base of newly bought lucky bamboo is usually sealed with wax, so part of it must be cut off, and cut at an angle to increase the water-contact area and make it easier to root.
Many people find that not long after buying it, the leaves turn yellow. It is probably because they did not cut off part of the base first.
2. Treat tap water
If you are growing it in tap water, it is best to let it sit for 1~2 days in advance to let the chlorine evaporate; if you use purified water, there is no need to let it sit.
3. Water culture
Prepare a clean, transparent glass bottle, fill it with 1/3 water, insert the lucky bamboo, then place it in a ventilated, shady spot and wait for it to root.
4. Care
Before rooting, do not move its position, do not put it in the sun, and when the water runs low just add water. Do not add nutrient solution, otherwise the leaves will immediately turn yellow; after rooting, you can add 2 drops of general-purpose hydroponic nutrient solution.
Growing lucky bamboo in water is actually not hard. What is hard is how to grow it well. Yellow leaves alone stump a whole crowd. Below, Huahua will teach everyone how to deal with the yellow-leaf problem!
What to do about yellow leaves on lucky bamboo?
1. "Not adapting to the new environment"
For lucky bamboo newly bought and brought home, a few yellow leaves may appear as it adapts to the new environment. Do not worry, this is normal. Cut off the yellow leaves and keep growing it.
2. Iron deficiency
Iron deficiency can cause leaves to turn yellow. So what should you do? First cut off the yellow leaves, then put a rusty iron nail in the water, and it can effectively improve the situation.
3. Sunburn
Lucky bamboo cannot take too strong light. Even direct sunlight in autumn can sunburn the leaves, causing yellowing and scorched tips.
After sunburn, first cut off the yellow leaves, add 2 drops of nutrient solution to the water, or put in a crushed aspirin, then move it to a ventilated spot with bright indirect light. In about a week it will become full of life again.
4. Root rot
If lucky bamboo goes a long time without water or a long time without ventilation, the roots will rot and the leaves will turn yellow.
Cut off the yellow leaves and rotted roots, rinse them clean with water, then soak them in potassium permanganate solution to disinfect; after disinfection, grow it in water again.
As the temperature gets lower and lower, many flower lovers begin to worry about how lucky bamboo will get through the winter. Actually it is very simple. Just do the following points well!
How can hydroponic lucky bamboo get through winter safely?
1. Move it indoors
Lucky bamboo is not very cold-tolerant, especially when grown in water. After the temperature drops to 10°C, it must be moved indoors. At 10~13°C it will go dormant, and after spring begins it will grow rapidly.
If you want lucky bamboo to keep growing in winter, then you must ensure the indoor temperature is around 20°C.
2. Change the water
In winter, when the water temperature is too low, it cannot be added directly to the bottle, as it will freeze and damage the roots. Make sure the water temperature is around 20°C. In addition, do not change the water too often; change it once every 20~30 days, and there is no need to add nutrient solution.
3. Put a bag over it
During the day, place the lucky bamboo in a warm, bright spot and spray the leaves with water more often. At night, put a plastic bag over it to keep it warm and humid, which is more conducive to growth.
Alright, that is all Huahua has to say about lucky bamboo.
