Wuhan Hannan District Golden Autumn Chrysanthemum Exhibition Opens Free to the Public, Three-Dimensional Floral Sculptures Beautify the Urban Area
The Wuhan Golden Autumn Chrysanthemum Exhibition has gone through 35 autumns and is a traditional street and park floral art performance and display event in Wuhan. Appreciating chrysanthemums in golden autumn is no longer just flower viewing, but a carnival of street culture, photography, socializing and autumn outings for Wuhan residents.
In order to satisfy the people of Jingkai Hannan District with the opportunity to enjoy chrysanthemums nearby, feel the crisp autumn air, and experience the government departments' practice of the important concept and beautiful vision that "lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets." The 35th Wuhan Golden Autumn Chrysanthemum Exhibition -- Jingkai Hannan District sub-venue takes"Flowers Fill the Auto City, Welcoming the Military World Games"as its theme, with"Clean Home, Beautify the Environment, Welcome the Military World Games"as its background. It is a public welfare cultural and promotional activity led by the Wuhan Economic Development Zone Management Committee (Hannan District) Government, with extensive mobilization of active participation from social organizations.
The Golden Autumn Chrysanthemum Exhibition is treated as an important task for carrying forward traditional garden culture, cultivating inheritors of horticultural and floral craftsmanship, promoting the Auto City craftsman spirit, and welcoming the Military World Games through environmental improvement and civilized city development. Through techniques such as green sculptures, floral sculptures, chrysanthemum group landscapes, chrysanthemum grafting, arts and crafts modeling, sound and light effects, and water features, as well as by holding chrysanthemum cultural activities, it fully showcases the new development and new achievements of Wuhan Economic Development Zone (Hannan District) in political, economic, social, cultural and ecological civilization construction, displays the city's new image, and enhances the district's urban influence and reputation.

This Jingkai Hannan District Golden Autumn Chrysanthemum Exhibition displays a total of 13 groups of large three-dimensional floral sculptures, green sculptures and tied landscape works, of which 10 groups are placed in the Sports Center Football Park, 2 groups are placed in Shamao Street Shamao Square, and 1 super-large work is placed in Hankou Jiefang Park to participate in the citywide Golden Autumn Chrysanthemum Exhibition main venue grand competition and overall contest.
Each group of chrysanthemum exhibition works has 4-10 differently designed tied landscapes or Military World Games mascot -- Bingbing. The chrysanthemum varieties selected include Hongzhong Chrysanthemum, Chrysanthemum Peony, Purple Hydrangea, Lipstick, Wheat Wave, Little Peach Blossom, Frost Fills the Sky, Wheat Wave, Guohua Qiangda, Jinbei Dahong, Bianliang Wanhong, Golden Dragon Soaring Through Clouds, Ball Chrysanthemum, Dragon Chrysanthemum, Standing Chrysanthemum, Tower Chrysanthemum, Bonsai Chrysanthemum and more than 30 other varieties, with nearly 200,000 pots of chrysanthemums of various colors, and an exhibition area of nearly 10,000 sq m.
The site selected for this Golden Autumn Chrysanthemum Exhibition by Wuhan Economic Development Zone (Hannan District) is an open and spacious area within the Wuhan Sports Center Football Park at the intersection of Tiyu Road and Taizihu Road. Because the area around the Sports Center is an ultimate demonstration zone that our district is fully developing for the Military World Games, it is the main venue for the opening and closing ceremonies of the 7th CISM Military World Games in 2019 and the main stadium for competition events, and will become a focus of high global attention. Next year, the Football Park will also, under the organization of the municipal government, plan to hold the Military World Games "World Famous Flowers Exhibition."

The Football Park is adjacent to the shores of South Taizi Lake. Surrounding it are Jingkai Wanda Commercial Real Estate Center, Xianglong Times Grand Mansion Commercial Center, Dongfeng Group Headquarters, Jingkai Hannan District Management Committee (District Government), Citizen Service Center, Jianghan University, Vanke Emerald Jiuxi, Guanlan Yuyuan, Renxin Taiziwan, Aolin Garden, Golden Harbor, Ningkangyuan Community, Ludao Garden and other commercial, government, enterprise and residential communities. Design Description:This chrysanthemum exhibition design scheme expresses that the people of Wuhan Economic Development Zone (Hannan District) take the opportunity of welcoming the 7th CISM Military World Games to actively create dynamic and vibrant elements of the world-renowned Auto City, build a new environment, serve as good hosts, and welcome the Military World Games.
The scheme designs camouflage art corridors, forest boardwalks, colorful glass spheres, butterflies, lighting, water mist, sports figure images and other large landmark tied landscapes, creating a vibrant sports atmosphere. Spatially, it adopts a corridor-style linear tour route design and an interesting semi-enclosed interactive wall space design, using chrysanthemum materials combined with sound, light, electricity and other artistic techniques to create a modern and fashionable stage for showcasing the CISM Military World Games.
With colorful chrysanthemums and landscape displays, it reflects the vigorous implementation by Wuhan Economic Development Zone (Hannan District) of comprehensive environmental improvement work such as major landscape greening upgrades, actively creating a grand atmosphere of "Flowers Fill the Auto City, Welcoming the Military World Games." It fully showcases the economic vitality and charm of Jingkai Hannan District as it strives to build a world-renowned Auto City, Smart Home City, Smart Manufacturing City, and General Aviation City -- a world-renowned waterfront ecological green city.

The dotted white doves add vividness to the overall design, and the mascot Bingbing highlights the sports spirit of the Military World Games.

Design Description:The design adopts the craft technique of plant sculpture, using multi-colored plant combinations and various blended artistic methods, vigorous and grand, full of dynamism; the Military World Games mascot "Junjun" is very cute and sits in the center, highlighting the Military World Games theme of the design; the background ribbon graphic uses a city silhouette image with variations, implying that Wuhan's rapidly developing urban construction and its elegant and harmonious urban atmosphere complement each other.
The surrounding ring sculptures of different sizes and colors add more liveliness. The butterflies made of inserted plants flutter up and down, full of dynamism, as if every flower and tree has emotions, bringing strong emotional appeal to viewers. They immerse themselves in a sea of flowers, fully enjoying the beautiful scenery of the golden autumn season.
