Remember when you were a kid and begged your mom to be careful when cracking eggs, so only the pointy end got knocked off, just to make a roly-poly toy? Now that the time has finally come when my eggs are mine to decide, eggshells have lost their old appeal. Maybe you don't know that eggshells can actually be used this way: plant all kinds of small succulents in them, pair them with some little decorations, and you get a naturally fresh look, 100 percent lovely.

Growing succulents in eggshells is very simple

1. Be careful when cracking the egg, so the eggshell becomes a container shape suitable for planting. Before planting, the eggshell is best washed to remove the egg white and that membrane inside.

2. Fill it with a medium for growing succulents. Of course, choose a loose, breathable medium. The eggshell is too small and hard to fill, so you can use a small spoon to help fill it.

3. Choose succulents of a suitable size to plant. Since the eggshell itself is not big, you can choose some smaller-growing succulents, or some leaf-cutting seedlings. How to pair them more beautifully is up to your own creativity.

4. Plant the succulents into the eggshell, and the succulents in the eggshell are done. Whether to poke holes in the eggshell can be considered based on the care environment. If you worry that water will flow out when watering and look unsightly, you can completely skip the holes. As long as you control your own hands and water in moderation, the eggshell is small enough that you don't need to worry about poor breathability without holes.

How to place the succulent eggshells is a technical task. You can choose to use the cardboard trays that hold eggs, or use the lids of some wide-mouthed bottles, small-mouthed cups, some ready-made items that happen to fit an egg just right, or even DIY an egg rack yourself.

Don't be afraid if you don't have a ready-made holder. Coil thatch into rings (you can also use substitutes, such as iron wire or various kinds of wire), and it will hold the succulents nicely, and the beauty is doubled!

Eggshells can be positioned in many ways. Not only can the top be cracked off, but the shell can also be cracked at a slant. Different positions can have different styles.

Although eggshells cannot last forever, they are very suitable for growing some transitional succulents, such as some small succulents about to be repotted, or some leaf-cutting seedlings that are neither too big nor too small. Put them together and they become even more beautiful.

If you find messing with eggs too troublesome... there are also some ready-made egg-shaped flower pots, and plants look especially beautiful in them too!
