The spider plant can really be called a must-have flower in every household. It has leaves that stay green all year round, so its ornamental value alone is very high, and what's more, it is extremely easy to keep, almost a plant that "can't be killed." Who wouldn't like growing spider plants!

Lately the autumn wind has been howling, and the temperature is gradually dropping. After going through summer, the spider plant is about to face the hard-to-endure winter again. I don't know if it's because the temperature is on the low side, but these past few days the spider plants at Huahua's home have started growing yellow leaves. Fortunately, an experienced old gardener gave Huahua 2 tips, saying that using them to grow spider plants works incredibly well!

1. Eggs

Eggs are a must-have food in our daily lives. They contain a lot of protein and other nutrients, so naturally using them to grow spider plants can achieve twice the result with half the effort. However, when we use eggs to grow spider plants, we only need the egg white, so the yolk must be separated out beforehand.

After we completely separate the egg white from the yolk, we need to dilute the egg white we use with water at about 1:500, and after adding the water, stir the egg white evenly. The stirred egg white solution needs to be placed in a sealed container and left to stand for about 3 hours, after which it can be used on the spider plant.

How to use: Now dig a small hole in the soil of the flower pot, then pour in the fermented egg white solution, but remember it is best to keep some distance from the flower's roots.

2. Alcohol

The thing we look forward to most when caring for a spider plant is it sending out shoots. If we want to see this scene sooner, we can use alcohol to speed up the spider plant's growth. Since alcohol itself is made from crops, using it to grow flowers won't cause any rejection either.

Using alcohol to grow flowers also requires dilution. First pour some alcohol into a container to let it volatilize and ferment. After volatilization is complete, we can dilute it at a ratio of 1:50. The diluted alcohol water can be used to water the flowers, and can likewise be used to wipe the leaves, which can make the spider plant's leaves even more glossy.

Besides needing little tricks, the usual care steps in growing flowers cannot be relaxed either. Huahua will now take everyone through a review of the daily care of spider plants!

Light: Spider plants do not like strong light, so in summer and autumn, when the sunlight is rather glaring, we need to take good shading measures. In winter care, a little more light can be added.

Watering: If there is a problem with watering a spider plant, then dry tips and yellow leaves are sure to appear. For watering, generally wait until the potting soil is dry and then water thoroughly in one go, but still avoid water accumulation.

Fertilizing: During the growing period, the spider plant can be given a moderate supplement of some thin fertilizer water every half month, which will speed up budding. If necessary, the spider plant needs to be repotted once every two years.

If you also grow spider plants at home, you can try caring for them with the above two methods. Only safe care can let spider plants get through the winter smoothly!
