Reasons and Solutions for Yellowing Leaves on Phalaenopsis Orchids
Yellowing leaves on Phalaenopsis orchids are usually caused by overwatering during care, which leads to rot of the aerial roots and consequently yellow leaves. When this happens, first remove the yellow leaves, check whether the moisture level of the sphagnum moss is normal and whether rot has occurred. If the root system has rotted, trim the rotten roots and start the care routine anew.
1. What Causes It
If yellowing leaves appear while caring for a Phalaenopsis orchid, it proves that in most cases of our management, too much water was given, its aerial roots have already begun to rot, and the root system can no longer absorb water and nutrients normally, which in turn causes the leaves to turn yellow.

2. What to Do
When you notice yellowing leaves on a Phalaenopsis orchid, first remove the yellow leaves, then check whether the sphagnum moss has begun to rot. If there is rot, replace it. Then check whether the moisture content in the sphagnum moss is normal and whether rot has occurred. If root rot has occurred, trim off a bit of the rotten roots and start the basic care of the Phalaenopsis orchid again.
