The root systems of clivia and orchids are fleshy roots, which are the most prone to disease and rot during care. Once diseased, the whole plant will grow poorly and slowly, and if not handled well, it will gradually wither and die. This is why many flower lovers always feel that orchids and clivia are difficult to grow. If you can activate the root system of orchids and clivia, let it develop quickly and grow new, robust roots again, then the plant above the pot will naturally thrive, and from then on all the problems of root rot, slow growth and poor growth will be easily solved. Once you have mastered this method, growing orchids, clivia or other flowers will no longer feel difficult.

The author has used this method several times. I remember once a pot of clivia had root rot because of improper soil. When I took it out of the pot, only the leaf stem was left, and all the roots had rotted away. After taking it out, I used a knife to cut away all the rotten parts around it, but the leaf stem was still very fresh. After cutting it with the knife, I first soaked it in a carbendazim solution for a while, then took it out and let it dry slightly, and then carried out root stimulation treatment. After half a month the effect appeared, and several little white roots grew below. In about a month, the leaves began to turn green and start growing, and more than a dozen roots had grown in the pot.

This method is simple to use and very efficient. There are two ways. One is the sponge rooting method. Find a piece of sponge and cut it into small pieces, about the size of a peanut, then soak it in water for 6 hours, then rinse it clean with water. Now put some crushed sponge at the bottom of the flower pot, put the clivia or orchid into the pot, fill in more sponge on top, and press a layer of coarse sand on top. Usually spray water into the pot often. Just do not let the sponge in the pot dry out. After more than a month, you can take it out of the pot and repot it with new soil. (This method is only suitable for stimulating and growing roots, not for long-term care.)

Another method is to use clean sand (clean sand without any impurities and without any fertilizer). Put the clean sand into a flower pot and plant the clivia or orchid in it. For usual watering, use clean fresh water, and after about a month roots will grow. Both sponge and sand have very good air permeability and a certain water-retaining capacity, and rooting and root stimulation with them are fast, safe and free of pests and diseases. The above two methods are especially fast for stimulating and growing roots in clivia and orchids that grow poorly or have root rot. If you cannot grow them well, then come and try it quickly.
