Put a worn sock over the pot of your pothos or succulents, and they won't get root rot or yellow leaves, and will grow vigorously

For those of us who grow flowers, reusing waste is nothing out of the ordinary. Pots and pans, firewood, rice, oil and salt can all be used in all sorts of clever ways. Thrift is a virtue, and everyone can be counted as scoring 100 points. Today, Huahua is going to share a new trick. Flower lovers who have already tried it, raise your hands quickly!
Afraid of root rot when growing flowers? A pair of stockings solves it!
The thing we fear most when growing flowers is root rot. No matter how careful you are, it still happens. Especially with succulents, Kalanchoe, pothos, clivia... these root-rot champions are just too hard to please. So simply wrap them in a stocking and solve it once and for all!
1. The principle of growing flowers with stockings
Stockings are very elastic and sturdy. Wrapping them around the pot when growing flowers makes things more breathable and can prevent root rot. On the other hand, it also prevents soil, water and nutrients from escaping, so the flowers concentrate on absorbing the nutrients in the soil and grow more and more vigorously.
2. Short socks for short pots, long socks for tall pots
For the flower pots we usually use, you can use short stockings. It may look like it doesn't make sense, but stockings are extremely elastic, so there is absolutely no problem! If the flower pot is taller than 30 cm, you can use long stockings.
3. Put the stocking over the flower pot
Just like putting a sock on the flower pot, slip the stocking over the pot from the rim outward. The finished result is shown in the picture below:
If the opening of the sock you chose is a bit loose, you can stretch an elastic band or a piece of yarn over it to hold it in place.
4. Fill with soil and plant the flowers
Put the stocking pouch into the flower pot, fill it with soil and plant the flowers. The stocking will lie snugly against the pot. When it's time to repot or change the soil, it is also easy to take out and clean, killing several birds with one stone!
A tiny stocking has many uses. How many have you tried?
Besides growing flowers, stockings have many other clever uses. Bedroom, kitchen, bathroom... they can be put to great use anywhere!
1. Shoe storage, no discoloration
Leather shoes, canvas shoes, sneakers that you normally buy... always fade, get stained or turn yellow. Storing them is a real headache. Slip them into clean used stockings to reduce oxidation and protect the shoes as much as possible~
2. Wipe shoes with stockings, and you can even skip the shoe polish
Use stockings to wipe shoes and you don't need to apply shoe polish. Just rub back and forth, and leather shoes immediately become shiny and bright. This actually makes use of the friction principle of synthetic fibers, and is even more effective than applying shoe polish or using a brush!
3. Wrap small pieces of soap in a sock, and they can be used for another 3 months
Laundry soap and toilet soap that have become small after long use can be wrapped in stockings. They are convenient to use and won't slip out of your hand, and scrubbing clothes is more effective with richer lather!
4. Store garlic in stockings for longer storage
Hanging garlic up makes it last longer and less likely to sprout or spoil. A stocking is the most suitable thing to hold it. Onions can be stored this way too~
5. Make sachets, the scent lasts long and they are moisture-proof
Stockings are breathable, so sachets made from them have a stronger scent. Orange peel, pomelo peel and osmanthus can all be put inside. Hanging them in a corner also helps prevent moisture~
6. Sweeping in autumn and winter, double the power
Static electricity is strong in autumn and winter, making it hard to sweep clean, and it also damages the broom. You can slip a stocking over the broom and use static electricity to pick up hair and dust. One gentle sweep and it's clean!
7. 100 elastic bands, a must-have for every home
Cut a stocking into small rings. They are very suitable for securing garbage bags and tying bag openings. You need them everywhere in daily life. They are great little helpers for running a household.
8. Excellent for repairing window screens
After a summer, the window screens at home are full of big holes and small holes. If you want to wait until next year to replace them, first repair them with stockings. Cut a piece and fix it with tape. Although it isn't very pretty, it keeps out insects, wind and snow~
