Autumn is a good season for repotting, because when the weather is hot, plant growth slows down and repotted plants are less likely to survive, so repotting is generally done in autumn and spring. Only when the potting soil is changed properly can flowers grow well.

What are the repotting tips

1. Sun the nutrient soil for two days

The nutrient soil you prepare must be exposed to full sunlight, as this can destroy pathogens and insect eggs and prevent damage to the plant's roots. So spread the soil out on the ground to dry, and after two days of full sun the bacteria will be eliminated, preventing the plant from dying.

2. Cut off the rotten roots

When repotting a plant, you need to remove the bad roots. After cutting them off with scissors, rinse with clean water, then disinfect the wounds with 0.1% potassium permanganate, then repot and place in a shady spot.

3. Put stones at the bottom of the pot

Place foam, pot shards or small stones at the bottom of the flower pot, so the bottom of the pot has good drainage. Without blocking the drainage hole, this lets the roots be looser and better ventilated. For plants with well-developed roots, such as clivia (Clivia miniata) and money tree (Pachira aquatica), adding stones for ventilation helps the plants grow well and also prevents root rot.

Fellow flower growers now have a certain understanding of how to repot flowers. In normal times, remember to sun the nutrient soil, and when repotting, remember to cut off the rotten roots, then add foam, pot shards or small stones to help ventilate the flowers, so the flowers will grow more beautifully.
