I wonder if you're the same as me, but every winter, the family buys back a lot of sweet potatoes, potatoes and Chinese cabbage to keep for the winter. This is because the temperature in winter is relatively cold, and many vegetables are no longer in season, so leafy greens are rather expensive in winter, since these vegetables are basically all grown in greenhouses.

To make sure we can still eat tasty vegetables in winter, Huahua thinks we can buy some seeds at the market and grow them ourselves at home. When winter comes and we want to eat them, they'll have grown just in time, ready to pick and eat whenever we like, so convenient!

Generally we choose to grow them on the balcony, and growing on the balcony doesn't take up much space either. Besides, friends who love growing and keeping flowers probably already have their balconies full of flowers, right? So today, before winter arrives, Huahua recommends growing these few small plants. Plant them now and you'll harvest in a month!

1. Bok choy

Bok choy and Chinese cabbage are not the same thing. Chinese cabbage is not as good as bok choy in either taste or appearance. Bok choy is also called milk cabbage, and it tastes a bit better. We can choose to grow some bok choy on the balcony, and the growing method is fairly simple: scatter the bok choy seeds you bought into relatively fertile soil, water them now and then, and they'll grow!

When buying seeds, be careful not to buy the wrong ones. Don't buy Chinese cabbage seeds, because Chinese cabbage seeds are not suitable for pots, only for growing in the ground.

2. Fennel

How many people, like Huahua, love eating fennel buns? When I was little I could never accept the taste of fennel, but who would have thought that when I grew up I'd actually love that taste in fennel buns! Why do we recommend growing fennel? Because fennel grows as fast as garlic chives. It grows quickly, and when you want to eat it you cut a bunch, and a few days later it grows back again, crop after crop, so much you can't finish it all.

When growing potted fennel, you just need to put a little base fertilizer in the soil and bury the seeds in it. Water it now and then when you have time, and in a month you can cut it and eat it!

3. Cilantro

A few days ago cilantro was so expensive. I wonder if everyone grew some at home? Although cilantro has dropped in price now, as a seasoning vegetable, growing it at home is still a must to join in the fun! After all, it's so easy to grow, and when cooking you just add a few fresh leaves to give the dish so much more flavor!

When growing cilantro, note that you should first soak the seeds in water for a few hours to speed up sprouting, so they grow a bit faster. Scatter the soaked seeds in fertile soil, sprinkle a little water every day, no need to actually water them, and in a few days they'll sprout!

These three vegetables are the ones Huahua recommends to everyone. If you want to grow them, other vegetables are fine too! Now while the weather is good, you can give it a try, and in a month you'll have a harvest!
