What to do when the leaves of a money tree turn yellow? Cause analysis and solutions

Yellow leaves on a money tree may be normal metabolic renewal, so there is no need to worry too much. If you feel it affects the look, just remove the yellow leaves in time. It may also be caused by improper care, in which case the growing environment should be improved as soon as possible so that the yellowing is brought under control and new leaves grow normally.

1. Normal aging

When yellow leaves appear on a money tree, look at the type that appears. One type is when the overall leaves are all fine, and only an occasional leaf or a few small leaves turn yellow, and they are the old leaves at the bottom. This indicates that it is normal aging, a metabolic renewal. This process is very gradual and not very rapid. If the yellowing is rapid, then consider other causes.

2. Care problems

Another type of yellowing is when a relatively large number of leaves turn yellow. At this point it may be a care problem. The biggest problem is watering. It is fairly drought-tolerant, and if it is watered too frequently or the soil becomes waterlogged, the root system will rot, after which yellow leaves appear. This kind of yellowing is faster, and the leaf tips and edges of the small leaves will have brown or grayish-white areas. Another cause of yellow leaves is too low a temperature.

3. Solutions

If the yellow leaves are caused by improper care, improve the growing environment as soon as possible so that the yellowing is brought under control and new leaves grow normally. If it is normal aging and the old-for-new renewal is felt to affect the look, just remove the yellow leaves in time.
