What to do when Phalaenopsis leaves turn yellow? Teach you the correct way to handle it

Flowers & Gardening 0 views
Yellowing leaves on a Phalaenopsis are usually caused by overwatering during care, which leads to rot of the aerial roots and, in turn, yellowing leaves. When this happens, first remove the yellow leaves, then check whether the moisture content of the sphagnum moss is normal and whether rot has occurred. If the roots have rotted, prune the rotten roots and start the care routine again.

I. What is the cause

If yellowing leaves appear while you are caring for a Phalaenopsis, it proves that in our management, in the vast majority of cases, too much water was given, its aerial roots have already begun to rot, and the roots are unable to absorb water and nutrients normally, which causes the leaves to turn yellow.

II. What to do

When you find that a Phalaenopsis has yellowing leaves, first remove the yellow leaves, then check whether the sphagnum moss of the Phalaenopsis has already rotted. If there is rot, renew it. Then check whether the moisture content in this sphagnum moss is normal and whether rot has occurred. If root rot has occurred, trim off a bit of the rotten roots and start basic care for the Phalaenopsis again.
