With the development of our society, changing ideas, and a richer inner world, growing flowers and plants has become a part of all our lives. And succulents, this new type of variety, are loved by everyone even more.

I occasionally go out for a stroll around the flower market too, and when I first saw succulents, my heart was conquered by them. I remember the succulent I saw at the time was purple all over, its leaves arranged like lotus petals, and it also had a thin white powdery bloom. Later, I looked up information and only then learned that its name is Chuxiang. From then on, I began my research on succulent babies. Below I will share with you the three questions you should remember by heart when growing succulents!

1: The succulent baby has bugs and has stopped growing, what should I do?

Fellow flower lovers all have one worry: succulent plants are very prone to mealybugs, and mealybugs are very hard to clean up. The mealybugs on the leaves are easy to clean off, but if the eggs in the soil have not died, they will keep harming the succulent baby. At this time we can only use strong medicine. Take the succulent out of the flowerpot together with its roots, and remember to protect its integrity.

Then rinse the roots with water, and when they are almost clean, sprinkle the insecticide solution on them. Finally, change to clean soil and transplant it back in. After a few days, the succulent baby will be full of life again. If you run into this situation, you must trust me, and you must make up your mind to give it a heavy blow. I guarantee you will see a different succulent baby.

2: Is the quality of the soil very important?

The soil used for succulent babies is different from the soil used for some other plants we see. When planting succulents, you must add granular soil. This allows the succulent's roots to get more oxygen, so the roots will not rot. Once you know the soil succulents need, keeping succulents alive is easy. Normally you also need to loosen the soil and trim the roots for succulents, because soil becomes infertile after being used for a long time and its nutritional value decreases. So regularly repotting succulents is very important! Also, some of us directly use the loess around us to grow succulents, and it is best not to use that. Because loess has little nutritional value, and the soil texture is too hard. It is not good for the growth of succulent babies!

3: Lack of water is not because you watered too little, but because the root cause has gone wrong?

If a succulent baby lacks water, its leaves will become soft, or even dry up, but as long as there is enough water, the leaves will return to being plump in two or three days. If there is no change, that means there is a problem with the roots. During the growth of succulent plants, some unhealthy root hairs will die due to poor nutrition or soil compaction. These dead root hairs will slowly rot and deteriorate every time we water, and in the end they will also breed mold, affecting the normal growth of the whole succulent. The consequences are very serious, and the more you think about it, the more frightening it becomes.

I have encountered this situation before too, and I was still wondering why watering so much had no effect. Fortunately, I later learned from experience. If we cannot discover this symptom in time, the succulent baby may die in our own hands because of our ignorance. The solution is very simple: repot it and prune the dead root hairs, and thoroughly kill the bacteria. There is also one little piece of common knowledge I must share with everyone.

In very hot weather, never sprinkle water directly on the succulent baby, especially at noon. The correct watering time is best chosen in the evening, so as to avoid the succulent being scalded by hot water. Besides this, succulents are also suited to being watered at night and on cloudy days. When watering, you must, must be careful not to pour water directly on the leaves, especially when there is intense sunlight. Did everyone learn that?

Let me tell you, succulent babies are good-looking and easy to grow, and those who like them can give them a try. But I have also noticed that there are quite a lot of people around me growing succulents. And I also have a few "Hongbaoshi" and "Menglu" at home. I strongly recommend everyone go learn about our lovely succulent babies. If you run into the problems I mentioned above, I hope this can help you.

Alright, this issue's little succulent knowledge is shared with everyone. These three important points, everyone must not make these mistakes. Follow me, and more flower-growing knowledge is updated every day.
