How do you get rid of mosquitoes and slugs in the yard? No more worries about growing flowers and vegetables

Before we started growing flowers and vegetables at home, there were basically no mosquitoes in the yard or on the balcony, but after the balcony was filled with flowers, there were lots of mosquitoes in summer, and I happen to be someone mosquitoes love to bite. Standing next to the flower bed chatting, I would get covered in mosquito bites.
Whether day or night, wherever I show up, those mosquitoes follow. Even if there are several other people nearby, I am the only one bitten all over, and the bites are extremely itchy.
1. Mosquito repellent methods
Below I will introduce the various mosquito repellent methods I have used, and also summarize the more practical ones.
1. Vitamin B1
In fact, I have tried many mosquito repellent methods, including all the methods circulating online. For example, some say that simply taking vitamin B1 orally or applying some vitamin B1 solution to the body can keep mosquitoes away, but the effect is basically useless, and I still get bitten.
2. Garlic to repel mosquitoes?
Some friends also say garlic can repel mosquitoes. Garlic is quite expensive; I grow some myself, so I cut it directly into pieces and put them near the flowers and plants. I also tried rubbing some garlic juice solution on my arms and ankles, but it still had no effect. Maybe the garlic variety I used was wrong.
3. Herbal plants to repel mosquitoes
Online it is said that the chopped and mashed stems and leaves of some thyme, rosemary, and mint can repel mosquitoes. I picked some herbal plants again and tried different formulas and different mixing ratios, but none had much effect. I feel I still have to rely on insecticide.
4. Avoid breeding insects
To prevent mosquitoes and insects, the first thing is not to give them an environment to survive and reproduce. Now whenever I see standing water anywhere, I remove it immediately. After rain, I also promptly clear the small pools in low-lying areas, so mosquitoes have no damp place to lay eggs, and they will be wiped out.
5. Spray mosquito repellent
This is a simple and rough method, but it is indeed quite effective. Regularly spray pesticide in places where mosquitoes appear, once every 10 days. After repeating this several times, basically no mosquitoes can be seen in the yard, but places with standing water still need to be cleaned up in time.
6. Be prepared
Besides doing the mosquito repellent and insect killing work well, you also need to protect yourself. It is best to wear long sleeves and long pants before doing gardening work.
2. Getting rid of slugs
1. Crushed eggshells
Scatter crushed eggshells around the plants, spread them evenly. This can indeed prevent slugs from invading the plants, but arranging eggshell fragments is a bit laborious, and after rain you have to arrange them again.
2. Pick them up by hand
Slugs and snails both come out at night. At night I took a flashlight to catch them, and sure enough I caught many. The poor flowers were almost eaten up.
3. Beer trapping
Using beer against slugs is the best method I have used. Directly pour some cheap beer into a relatively deep cup and place it where slugs appear. When slugs smell the beer, they crawl onto the cup and finally fall into the beer and drown.
Every 2-3 days I have to clean up the slugs' bodies. The effect is outstanding, but after rain you still have to replace the beer.
