The "Just Persimmons, So GO Awesome" event in Fanlu Township, Chiayi County has kicked off

Autumn is the season when persimmons ripen in Fanlu Township, covering the mountains and valleys with abundant fruit. This year, Fanlu Township has adopted the theme "Just Persimmons, So GO Awesome," and will grandly hold the Persimmon Festival on October 20 and 21 at Bantianyan Ziyun Temple. Fanlu Township Chief Lin Qinggen served as the persimmon spokesperson on the 16th, inviting everyone to come to Fanlu on the 20th and 21st to listen to performances by artists Lin Qiaoan, Dong Yuqun and Wen Hanlong, watch the water resources awareness train, buy persimmons, join parent-child obstacle challenges and painting DIY, and try the longest roller slide in Taiwan, China, which officially opens on the 16th next to Ziyun Temple. There will be plenty to eat and plenty to enjoy.

Fanlu Township has 350 hectares of persimmon planting area, with an annual output of 5,264 metric tons, accounting for more than 70% of the county's production area. The persimmons are high in sweetness, crisp in texture, and rich in vitamins. They can also be processed into excellent dried persimmons, and persimmons used as an ingredient can be cooked into delicious dishes.

The Fanlu Township Office held a Persimmon Festival press conference on the 16th. Speaker Zhang Mingda, County Councilor He Zifan, Township Representative Assembly Chairman Lin Hongqian, Farmers' Association Director-General Li Qisan and others were all present to recommend the renowned Fanlu persimmons to visitors. The township office also invited famous chef Guo Taiwang to design a series of persimmon-flavored meals, with dishes carefully prepared on site: "Good Persimmons Come in Pairs Overlord Chicken," "Hundred Persimmons Great Fortune Cognac Shrimp," "All Persimmons Prosper Smoked Meat Pie," "Persimmons Come True Milkfish Balls," and "Persimmons Must Be Done Basil Stir-Fried Pork." Delicious recipes were also provided, and the public is welcome to take them home and cook for themselves.

Township Chief Lin Qinggen pointed out that in addition to producing crisp persimmons and red persimmons, the farmers' association, fruit growers and businesses have successfully developed many specialty products using fresh persimmons as ingredients. Examples include "Yifan Persimmon" made through the new "vacuum de-astringency" technology, chewy dried persimmons, sweet and delicious persimmon cakes, persimmon ice cream, persimmon chocolate favored by lovers, and health-oriented persimmon leaf tea. These will be displayed and sold at the Persimmon Festival as the freshest and highest-quality local agricultural products.
