For people who love growing flowers, or friends who have been growing flowers for a long time, everyone knows that if a potted flower has been grown for one or two years, the soil color becomes lighter and it becomes compacted, no longer as loose, breathable and fertile as at the beginning, and the flower's growth also begins to slow down. The main reason is that after the potting soil has been used for a period of time without being replaced, the humus in the soil decreases, causing the potting soil to become compacted and poor.

Add some of this stuff to the bottom of the flower pot, and the potting soil will be fertile and loose; without changing the pot for ten years, it will still grow into a bursting pot!

Sand. Don't underestimate river sand, the most ordinary sand; fine sand or coarse sand are both treasures. A potted plant that Xiaoya grows on the terrace in a flower pot has a very large pot, and changing the pot and soil is troublesome and inconvenient, so when it was first planted, one third river sand was added to the soil, making it sandy soil.

Now it has already been seven or eight years. The potting soil is still relatively soft, not compacted at all. The potted plant still grows quite well.

Orange peel and rice washing water. A flower friend said that they are rather lazy and usually don't want to change the soil or pots for their flowers, so they directly put the rice washing water from home into a mineral water bottle, then soak some orange peel in it and ferment it for a period of time. The orange peel can remove the strange smell and give it a slightly fragrant feel. Then using this water to water the flowers, after several years, the flowers still grow really well!

You can also cut banana peels into pieces and bury a small amount in the potting soil. Increasing humus fertilizer can make the potting soil more fertile and loose.

Peanut shells, nut shells, sunflower seed shells, these things, household waste, for friends who usually like eating snacks, there must be a lot of them. Don't throw them away. Spread them at the bottom of the pot, and they will make the soil more breathable, drain smoothly, and not become compacted. If you break them into smaller pieces, even better.

Pine needle soil, leaf mold soil, pine needles, etc.. If you don't want to change the soil for your flowers, or can't find suitable new soil, we can do a simple soil change: after loosening the soil of the potted plant, directly remove some of the soil on the surface.

Then add some pine needle soil or leaf mold soil that you dug up yourself and spread it on the surface. This can also improve the condition of the potting soil, so there is no need to change the soil.

In short, grow flowers according to the actual situation of your own potted plants. If the flowers and plants are not growing well and are growing slowly, then the soil needs to be changed. If they are growing very vigorously, with fat branches and strong leaves, then the soil may not need to be changed for many years.
